...that Kerosene "Kuppi"...But we had no choice and so did we have very few complains. It would sound crazy but yes we waited in 80s for power cuts. Yes we did. Could you believe it caused people to live closer, children to play outdoors and streets to be lively. Some would ask "How was it so?" Well, every evening just when it getting dark and power cuts followed, we kids all of them in the society would venture out without an excuse to play and then would follow some of those games which would be still remain unmatched in a era of "Blackberry Playbook" or "XBOX 360" or "PS3". Many of us would passionately remember "Hide n Seek", "Chor-Police", "Donkey-Monkey stop", "Chain-chain", "Gully cricket" and so on...
It isn't like that we would not play or come out if there were no power cuts but then this made it even more likely and for parents to excuse it for some other reasons. There were then no boys, no girls, it was just us kids left alone to drown in our exquisite world of innocence and charm.
